My first time using Greentoe I saved over $100, no joke – so of course I had to write a Greentoe review!
I’m not sure if I know anyone that would turn down extra money. I certainly wouldn’t, so when I needed to buy some new equipment I remembered a site that my dad had read about. I had such a great experience I felt the need to write a Greentoe review.
My Greentoe Review
This evening my sister graduates from Clovis East High School and of course I’ll be there to take pictures. With this in mind, I was thinking about what equipment I would use for her big day. Right now I own a variety of lenses but the furthest distance I can shoot is 200mm away. I know I wouldn’t normally need a bigger lens than that, so I thought hey I’ll get an extender.
Like I said before, my dad had mentioned something about a site where you name a price you’d be willing to pay for a piece of equipment. I asked him the usual, “Is it legit?” and he told me to check it out.
The site itself is super easy to use. You just search what you’re looking for and name your price. For my first purchase, I actually bought two items. A Canon Extender EF 2x III and a GoPro HERO4 Black.
One of the coolest features is Greentoe’s PriceMeter. With it, you can make a pretty good guess as to whether or not your price would be accepted.
As you can see below I set my price as $375, just to see what would happen. Not too long after I received an email with a counter offer of $399, and I accepted it – I mean, it did save me at least $30 then and there. After accepting, I learned which retailer countered my offer.
This time it was from a CEO and Co-Founder of Greentoe, Joe. This seemed pretty cool, but it’s easy to say “This is NOT an automated email,” but I actually had a question to ask and he really did respond.
I could have rushed shipping, but there was no need. I believe they’ve just started to offer new two-day shipping, so I’ll be taking advantage of that in the near future. When I opened the plain brown box, my items were packaged with some packing peanuts and my order’s invoice/receipt.
GoPro HERO4 Black
Average Online Price: $499
My Greentoe Price: $419
Canon Extender EF 2x III
Average Online Price: $429
My Greentoe Price: $399
As expected, both the Canon Extender and GoPro arrived safely and were 100% working.
Overall, I could not be happier with my decision to use Greentoe. Normally I would just head over to Amazon or B&H’s websites and buy the products, no questions asked, but with Greentoe I saved at least $110.
I will definitely be using Greentoe again for any purchases since they have categories for photography, music gear, pro audio, optics, home theater, and appliances. Yes, appliances – you can bet I’ll be submitting bids on refrigerators and washing machines when I move out! I highly recommend that you give Greentoe a try!
